Qualified Payroll & Benefits Specialist with extensive experience in managing payroll operations for diverse industries. Proven track record of ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely payroll processing. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and assist in implementing new payroll systems.
· Ensure payroll is processed in accordance with legal requirements and AFT procedures and policies.
· Compile/reconcile data and prepare written reports as required.
· Represent the payroll function of AFT and act as primary contact for questions, audits, or other purposes.
· Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.
· Maintain employee payroll files, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
· Maintains various fiscal information, files, and records for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
· Prepares various payroll reports for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information to staff, local, county, state and/or federal agencies.
· Resolves discrepancies with payroll and information and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of records and employee payments.
· Responds to inquiries regarding various procedures and requirements for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines.
· Administer AFT benefit programs to include, but not limited to, health insurance, dental, vision, long term disability insurance (LTD), basic and voluntary life insurance, flexible spending account plans, employee assistance program (EAP), leaves of absence, etc.
· Effectively interpret federal and state FMLA, ADA implications as they relate to AFT’s benefit plans and policies.
· Administer leaves of absences.
· Complete required annual reporting and maintain current, accurate, and organized benefit plan records.
· Provide support to employees to resolve any issues with AFT benefit plans or policies.
· Work closely with AFT benefit partners on annual benefits reviews, audits and/or testing.
· Prepare and set up meetings designed to help new and existing employees obtain information and understand company benefits.
· Maintains a wide variety of benefit information for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail.
· Reconciles benefit billings for the purpose of ensuring accurate eligibility and payment information and complying with contract provisions.
