  • I intern for the Thomas More Associate Athletic Director.
  • My job consists of helping to organize and supervise sporting events at Thomas More.
  • I help guide employees in setting up and cleaning up sporting events. I supervise employees during events to make sure they stay on task and get things to run smoothly. I help opposing teams and referees visiting us get situated and accommodated. I act as a bridge between EMS and referees, etc.
  • My boss, Jeff Hetzer, has given me a huge opportunity by letting me fully work instead of just shadowing him, which has permitted me to gain valuable management skills, leadership skills, communication skills, and organizational skills.
  • This job has permitted me to learn and master how to adapt in certain situations; things don't always go as planned, so it's good to know how to adapt.

  • I gained these skills by scheduling games with other coaches, organizing travel arrangements for away games, ensuring timely attendance, and adequate accommodations for all team members, managing games, and adapting to certain situations like injuries and weather conditions.
  • One of my favorite parts of this job is that it has helped me build my people skills and taught me how to communicate with people, how to notice when they aren't okay or have things weighing on them, and how to help them, while also helping the team at the same time.
