I leverage my experiences working with diverse customers at Costco and Vons to deliver excellent service and support. As an MMA trainee, I have developed strong discipline, decision-making, and adaptability skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and lead others. Additionally, my Bachelor's degree in criminal justice and my prior education experiences, has provided me with a solid foundation in the principles of law enforcement and the justice system.
I first applied to Vons for the position of "Front End." As a "Front End" associate I would greet customers and ask them if they found everything good. I would ask if they needed any bags or not for their groceries and put them back in the cart. My other duties were to do "carts." This was grabbing all the carts that were scattered outside and putting them back next to the store so that customers would have easy access to grab a cart or not for their groceries. I would have to be responsible for "sweeps" and checking the bathrooms. The first 30 minutes of the hour I would have to sweep the whole store and produce. In the last 30 minutes of the hour, I would only have to sweep produce. The "sweeps" were an emphasis of the store because this made sure that the floors and bathrooms of the store were clean so that way there were no accidents. I got promoted to GM. My duties as a GM were to mainly stock water, sodas, Gatorade, ice, and beers. Later on, I got promoted to Food Clerk, and this is my current position right now. As a Food Clerk depending on if they put me in either dairy or produce, my job is to stock product. If I'm working in the diary, my job is to break down the pallet of dairy load, put them in carts/u-boats, and stock them. I would stock milk, cheese, creamers, juices, eggs, etc. If I worked in produce, I would break down the pallet of produce load, put them in carts, and stock them. When needed, I would help out with checker service, D.U.G (Drive Up and Go Service/online orders), and receiving the load from the truck which mainly was to put the pallets of product from the truck into the store or the freezer with a power jack.
As a seasonal worker at Costco, my duties were to greet customers in the front end and ask them if they found everything great. I would ask the customers if they needed boxes for the groceries. If they answered yes or no, I would put the customer's groceries back in the cart with boxes or not depending on their answer. My other duties included getting boxes (box crew) from around the store and putting them in a giant bin so that way the front-end workers could grab boxes whenever they needed. My job was also to do "carts", which was grabbing carts outside and putting them back next to the store so that way customers could grab a cart when needed for their shopping. If my shift ended at 11 p.m. My other duty was when the store closed around 8:30 p.m. My job was to grab a cart that had "go-backs" (which are items/groceries that needed to be put back on the shelf because the customer ended up not wanting the product) and face everything and to the front, so that way the aisle/shelves looked "pretty" for the next day.
I have been training martial arts since I was 7 years old from taekwondo, to Kung-fu, to now MMA. Martial arts has taught me far more than just physical techniques. Through martial arts, I have gained a deeper understanding of discipline, hard work, teamwork, and self-awareness. These lessons have been invaluable in helping me navigate life's obstacles and grow from my mistakes and through my injuries in life.
I have attended the Chula Vista Police Teen Academy in 2018 for my community service hours to graduate high school. There in the Academy I got to interact with various personnel from Captains to Patrol Officers all while becoming educated about several aspects of a large police agency. I got to experience the department overview, the K-9 unit, body worn cameras, firearms, DUV Traffic Procedures and stops, emergency vehicle operations, active shooter/crime lab forensics, crimes of violence/gangs, and the narcotics enforcement.
