Adept at fostering cross-cultural communication, I enhanced client satisfaction and expanded my own client base as a Translator and Interpreter for several Law Firms & Individual Clients across South Carolina. My proficiency in live interpretations and exceptional language skills, coupled with knowledge and research, has consistently delivered high-quality translations, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining confidentiality. I leveraged my bilingual proficiency and cultural awareness at Rivera Immigration Law Firm to enhance client relations and office efficiency. My expertise in document translation and exceptional attention to detail led to significant improvements in client satisfaction and streamlined operations, showcasing my commitment to excellence and continuous learning in dynamic environments.
One important detail about me that you should note is that on December 22, 2022, I was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) due to overstaying my visa. I was brought to the United States at just six months of age with a valid visa and passport. However, my parents never renewed my visa, and it expired in 2005. As a result, I was held by ICE for seven months.
On July 15th, I was released after my case was dismissed, thanks to the efforts of Colon Law Firm in Greer, SC. During my time at the immigration detention facility, I gained extensive knowledge about immigration law and procedures. The facility had a daily-accessible library filled with valuable information on immigration laws. I took the initiative to help multiple detainees with their cases, translating documents, filling out applications, preparing statements, and writing letters to the immigration judge overseeing their cases.
In addition, I shared insights with my own lawyer, including specific methods and useful information I had learned, which turned out to be pivotal in my case. Even before I retained my lawyer, I took it upon myself to prepare and gather the necessary documents for my case, draft cover letters, and even present my case to an immigration judge. I did all this with no prior knowledge of immigration law or experience in a legal office.
Now, with a valid work permit and my Green Card application in progress, I’m looking to assist others who are navigating the same struggles I faced. I want to use my experiences and knowledge to support individuals going through similar challenges, helping them find a path forward.
