Summary

My name is Finlay Brown, and I am 16 years old. I have 5 siblings, and I have lived in Weston my entire life. Growing up in Weston, I attended Weston schools until my sophomore year, when I transitioned to boarding school at Taft. I dedicate most of my time to Field Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse, and volunteer activities during the school year. However, over the summer, I grew up attending sleepaway camp in Cape Cod, where I learned to sail, met amazing friends, and eventually became a leader in training. Camp has always been a special place for me, so I would love the opportunity to work with kids as a counselor.

Builders Beyond Borders:

Builders beyond borders provided me with the opportunity to give back and work with a team to generate plans for the community. Whether the project was big or small, the goal was always to improve the lives of those around us. In a team of about ten individuals, we all held equal power and responsibility. Once a week, we gathered to get to know each other and discuss upcoming projects. For example, during the holidays we organized food drives and sorted donations into a perfect box of ingredients for each family's holiday meal. This allowed me the opportunity to work with my peers and actively make a difference in the community. participate in bettering the community.

Amnesty International:

Amnesty International is an organization focused on advocating for human rights across the globe. At my school the Amnesty club is composed of students dedicated to improving the lives of kids who are faced with adversity and unfair circumstances. We spend time discussing current issues and raising money to improve the lives of people locally and internationally. This has been incredibly rewarding as I have grown to understand the lives of those outside of where I live.

Pink Aid:

Pink Aid is an organization dedicated to raising awareness for individuals with breast cancer. Through this organization, I participated in several fundraisers in hope of improving the lives of those who face such a terrible illness.
