Finn kyrie

I have experience working with and taking care of animals, and for the last three years have been house-sitting for people and helping different farms local to me with their chores a few time a week. Doing these kinds of jobs allowed me to have a flexible schedule for school, and still make a good amount of money. Doing these jobs meant that I had to be good at networking, connecting with people, and staying on top of my schedule.

I worked at a tannery where we tanned sheep, goat, rabbit, and deer hides without chemicals. My main job was finishing, where I would do the detail work on the hides before they were shipped out. This included removing pieces of straw, burrs, brushing out mats, and other things depending on the fibers condition. I worked closely with a small team of six for over a year of varying ages, and got along well with all of them. Other than the finish work, I was moved around every day to fill in at stations where more help was needed. Because of that I always showed up to work never knowing which station I would be at or who i would be working with that day.

I worked shadowed and worked on and off for the clinics Equine Veterinarian, and assisted her with drawing blood, taking notes, floating teeth, giving vaccinations, and cleaning sheaths until she retired.
