Fiona Moorhead

Currently I am working as a generalist at the trauma center Mission Hospital in various departments. These include hematology, blood bank and chemistry. In this capacity I have worked in blood bank covering many of major traumas. I also enjoy hematology and was previously nominated for excellence by one pathologist. I previously implemented a test for procalcitonin, an early marker for sepsis, including validation and correlation studies, procedural write up and training of all employees.

At this time I worked in the microbiology department doing all routine cultures. This included urine, sputum, body fluids, stool and blood cultures. Reading gram stains and also I ran miscellaneous testing procedures.

In this position I was responsible for maintaining cell lines which included doing cell counts, preparation of media, freezing and defrosting cell lines. I also did PCR and gel electrophoresis in the research of autism.

I was responsible for the safety and well being of developmentally disable women. Including setting appropriate goals for improvement and decreasing maladaptive behaviors.
