• Served as first assist and performed wound closure for laparoscopic cholecystectomies, partial colectomies, appendectomies, hemi- and total thyroidectomies, breast lumpectomies and mastectomy revision procedures
• Observed/partially assisted with skin biopsies and excisions for suspected lipomas, basal cell carcinomas, and other dermatologic lesions, vasectomy procedures, and chemotherapy port placements
• Observed outpatient endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and EGDs, to build familiarity with GI diagnostic workup

Orthopedic Surgery Rotation — Premier Orthopedics of Fort Worth, Fort Worth, TX
June 2026 – July 2026 (4 weeks)

• Independently performed diagnostic radiographs of upper and lower extremities
• Administered knee viscosupplementation (gel) injections and cortisone injections to the knee, hip, and shoulder
• Observed total knee and hip arthroplasty, arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, knee, and hip, meniscus repair, and intra-articular hip injections
• Assisted with carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release procedures

• Performed venipuncture and blood draws on a diverse patient population across inpatient and outpatient settings, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Registered patients and processed demographic and clinical information using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Verified insurance coverage for laboratory orders on Medicare patients, ensuring compliance with billing requirements prior to specimen collection
• Maintained accuracy and attention to detail in specimen labeling, handling, and processing to support timely and reliable lab results

• Connected and followed up with individuals with information about isolation and quarantine.
• Delivered health education and guidance to individuals with potential exposures to COVID-19.
