Course Reflection- This course has been a major stepping stone toward my goal of becoming a nurse practitioner equipped to practice within the scopes and standards of the American Nurses Association. Before this class, I was not familiar with the ANA’s standards for professional nursing, and even though I have barely scratched the surface of what it entails to be a professional nurse, I now have a broader grasp of the nursing principles of ethics, research, and evidence-based practice. Additionally, learning about the Code of Ethics for Nursing and reviewing the Scopes and Standards of Nursing has enabled me to make better decisions for my patients. Overall, I am now better-equipped to maintain the high standard of professionalism that is vital to the nursing profession.
