I have a total of nine years of experience in progressively responsible roles, starting as an Administrative Assistant in DFID (UKAID) and later serving as the Deputy Head of Office in the British Embassy Office in Burundi. During that time as a Consular Officer, I gained valuable experience assisting British Nationals in Burundi, providing them with the necessary Embassy assistance. This involved liaising with the Home Office in London to facilitate passport renewals for British citizens residing in Burundi.
Some accomplishments :
- In January and April 2016, I received the Consular Directorate Staff Award for my response and engagement in the arrest of a British Journalist in Burundi by the Burundi government.
- I was also honored with the Diplomatic Excellence Award for taking responsibilities during the political crisis in Burundi from March to December 2015.
- In January 2015, I attended the Diplomatic Academy course and received training on New Network post account reports in Nairobi and Pretoria. - Throughout January, May, and July 2014, I joined other Young Burundian Elites group to discuss development, business, and peace.
- I underwent Consular Training on MVS (Motivation Value System) in Pretoria, South Africa.
- Additionally, I completed Management Training Champion in Pretoria, South Africa. -
- In December 2013, I worked closely with an orphanage in Burundi, providing support to vulnerable, disabled, and orphaned children affected by the Burundi Crisis.
- In January and October 2011, I participated in Communication Assertiveness Training in Pretoria, South Africa.
- I also received Consular Training on Assistance Work Overseas in London, United Kingdom.
