• Providing basic care to patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities
• Helping patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and using the toilet
• Recording and checking vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate, and keeping precise records in the patient’s chart
• Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional supplements as needed
• Answering patient calls and determining how best to help them.

Working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities.

Intellectually disabled individuals. Understanding how to help them achieve their hopes and dreams while trying to protect them from judgment when the outside world doesn’t understand.

Being their therapist, and also their cheerleader.

DSP’s provide hands-on mentoring to those we serve to help them become more independent.

Provide positive direction to the individuals to encourage them to achieve their personal goals.

Mentoring with daily activities to those we support in a manner that ensures their health and safety. Some examples include helping with meals, cleaning, and facilitating fun activities.

• Answered call lights and supported patient comfort and safety by adjusting bed rails and equipment.
• Promoted good oral and personal hygiene by aiding patients with shaving, bathing, and teeth brushing.
• Supported ambulation and physical therapy needs by conducting planned exercise routines.
• Checked patient vitals such as temperature, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
• Educated patients and family members on best home care practices for healing and recovery.
• Helped clean and prepare patient consultation rooms to maintain hygiene standards
