As a Homeschool Teacher I have enjoyed working with families and helping them find their joy of homeschooling by being encouraging and supportive in their styles of learning and teaching. I enjoy seeing parents find their creativity and abilities as they teach their children.
I have taught in the classroom and have also enjoyed teaching my kids at home things like organizational as well and being responsible and kind human beings. I have also taught in primary at my church to kids ranging in age from 3-11 years old. In order to keep their attention being creative and engaging is very important as you teach in different modalities. I miss teaching a group of students and desire to be able to do that in a small way through Mission 2 Learn. I love being creative and finding ways to teach students and keep their attention.
My current duties as an HST are to support and help my homeschooling families in their homeschooling journey. To help and encourage them as they comply with the state and schools requirements as a members of our charter.
I live in an urban community but love the rural life. I have planted fruit trees and have a couple of gardening boxes where I plant veggies. I have a couple of beehive boxes as well as raise a few chickens. Taking care of all of these areas of our backyards help me to relax and also gives my kids an opportunity to learn responsibility as they tend to areas that need their attention. I also know it helps us all see the rewards for our hard work. I enjoy running as a way to relax and meditate. I have run many marathons although it's been a while since I've run that distance. Sewing is one of the hobbies I have that enters my life every so often but I enjoy keeping that lost art alive.
