The multiyear journey to the Eagle Scout Award is one of the most involved and transformative experiences a young person can have. Scouts try new things through the merit badge program, develop confidence in the outdoors, practice leadership tactics, and plan, develop and give leadership to a service project that benefits their community.

The journey culminates with a Scout led volunteer project, in which the scout plans organizes, fundraises and implements a service project. This applicant's project was an improvement project at Gold Valley High School that entailed beautifying and securing the parking lot entrance to Golden Valley High School.

As part of Boy Scouts I have helped at multiple events throughout my scouting career.

For example:

• Acton Illegal Dumping Task Force (participate in multiple clean up days)
• Agua Dulce Country Fair (set up, tear down, run carnival games)
• Fundraising (participate in multiple fundraising efforts for Boy Scouts)
• Agua Dulce Women's Club (multiple events including Veteran's Day celebration, clean up days, etc.)
• Assist with multiple Eagle Scout projects (Castaic Animal Shelter, Vasquez High School, Valencia High School, Acton Community Center)

Family member assigned to maintaining home landscaping and gardens.

• Maintaining the waterlines, fixing sprinklers, and maintaining the lawnmower.
• Cultivated plants and maintained gardens, enhancing aesthetic appeal and health of greenery.
• Evaluated soil conditions and selected appropriate plants for optimal growth in various environments.
• Maintained grounds by mowing, trimming, weeding, and general clean-up.
• Performed planting, watering, mulching, and edging of lawns.
• Removed weeds, hazards, and debris from common pathways to improve usability.
