In 2019 I retired after 38 1/2 years of teaching, It did not take me long to realize that I missed interacting with both students and teachers, and the excitement I felt every time I stood in front of a class. Because of this, I have spent quite a bit of my time since then as a substitute teacher in the same district where I taught for thirty of those years. Last spring I was a long-term substitute for twelve weeks and had the opportunity to teach 8th and 9th grade English and 8th grade American History. During that time, I realized how much I missed having my own classroom and being with students. Therefore, I was intrigued when I heard about the opportunity to teach in the Career Tech Education program for the COOR Intermediate School District and immediately reached out to the program director.
