Voluntary nursing position for a local chapter of a national oncology care organization. Managed and provided care for an assignment of 5 campers with a current or past history of cancer. Campers ages ranged from 5 years old to 17 years old. Promoted relationship-based care through implementation of personalized care plans. Adhered to organizational guidelines to ensure physical and psycho-social health of campers.

Managed care for an assignment of 4 to 8 patients on a med/surg telemetry unit, with a clinical focus on strokes, seizures, and diabetes. Patient care plans addressed hemodynamic stability and electrolyte balance. Participated in ongoing stroke education to improve post-stroke patient outcomes. Seizure precautions and unit protocols implemented to promote patient safety. Reinforced education for diabetic patients regarding glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and lifestyle changes.
