Results-focused, compassionate teacher of 18 years ready to take the challenge of serving students by helping those the teachers that work with them. As lead mentor for 5 years, I have been able to make connections with teachers at Jackson Middle School and others in the Great Beginnings Program. This has also allowed me to act as a coach to the new teachers over my career. I have also come to realize that equitable access means more that just giving everyone a computer. It is also important that you meet your student, adult or school age where they are in their skill with technology and help them move forward. I do this with tutorials, and also one on one sessions with both teachers and students. Finally, it is important that the shared vision I have with the administration at Jackson is passed on to the new teachers in our building. Collaboration is considered very important. It is important that I share this vision not only with words, but also by modeling through things like quarterly meetings with our new teachers where we discuss issues new teachers are having. For example there was concern over submitting grades for the first quarter, so we met as a group and gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions and share tips.
