POSITION SUMMARY: The Wellness Nurse is responsible for monitoring the health and well being of the residents. Provides leadership, support and assistance with resident care and services. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides line supervisor tasks assignments to Resident Assistants and Med Techs in the absence of the Health Service Director. Responsibilities may include providing input into the interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TALENTS

Graduate of a state approved college of nursing.

Current license as a Registered or Practical/Vocational Nurse.

Ability to learn new technology in order to perform the essential functions of this role including software programs in point click care /other programs.

Demonstrate more than one year of experience in assisted living hospice, home health acute or long term care environment.

Demonstrates knowledge of nursing practices, techniques and methods applied to health and wellness resident care.

Possesses written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations.
