For my capstone, I was part of a nine-member team tasked with designing and building a BAJA car for a national competition in California, embodying the principles of mechanical engineering. As the Chassis team leader, I spearheaded the design, simulation, and manufacturing processes crucial for ensuring the vehicle was competition-ready and robust. My responsibilities included conducting detailed simulations to assess the structural integrity of our design and leading the hands-on manufacturing efforts, which involved TIG welding, tube bending, and notching.
This project not only honed our technical skills but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, problem-solving under pressure, and innovative thinking. It provided a rigorous challenge that tested our abilities to manage complex engineering tasks efficiently, making it a significant highlight of our educational journey and a proud demonstration of our readiness to enter the engineering field.
