Lead the design efforts for SDGE Strategic Undergrounding program for Stantec. Coordinated with several internal teams as well as subconsultantsto engineer and design large segments of overhead to underground conversions in San Diego. Lead training and managed teams to produce electrical and civil designs for trench, cable, conduit, and equipment including all calculations required for cable pulling using polywater pulling calculator, voltage drop and flicker calculations, transformer sizing, and provided quality control for engineering, design, and drafting for all sections assigned to Stantec.

Provide support and design for electrical distribution systems in SDGE Corrective Maintenance Program. QAQC and Design of deteriorated structures for both the transmission system and under-built distribution system. Completed design deliverables and QAQC for all design documents such as Bolt Length Calculations, Stock Quantity Summary, Material Order Requests, Etc. Worked closely with Burns and McDonnell review team and project management to complete various projects for SDGE.

Provided detailed underground designs for Apollo program quick win underground extension and re-work for C175. Completed design and QAQC of all design deliverables such as cable pulling calculations, iCue material, fusing requests, and all of the documentation required for new install of various switchgear throughout the project. Coordinated with underground survey team to produce high quality survey grade basemaps for use by the Land and Environmental review groups as well as coordination with the SDGE Engineer to come up with creative solutions to the unique problems encountered on the project.

Worked closely with Burns and McDonnell to provide several quick turnaround projects for the program through IFC. Completed designs for underground cable replacements for at risk and failing cable in trenches, CIC, or direct buried cable. Also completed several designs of overhead deteriorated pole replacements for NV Energy. All NV Energy designs were done in AUD and material ordered through the MAXIMO online system.

Led team to provide emergency restoration plans to restore customer owned distribution circuits and equipment after Bobcat Wildfire in state of California damaged several assets at Cogswell Dam. Efforts included structural analysis in PLS-CADD and coordination with subcontractor to aquire LiDAR data and generate work order maps and bill of materials under severe time constraints to meet client needs for power restoration to critical locations on site.

  • Princeton Avenue Improvement Project | City of Moorpark | Moorpark, California, United States | Distribution Design Lead

Led in the design and engineering of a new streetlighting system for this street widening improvement project in the City of Moorpark. The project involved widening the street to add new vehicle and bicycle lanes as well as pedestrian walkways. The street lighting electrical system was designed as an underground system feeding several new concrete luminaires along both sides of the street along with meter cabinets for the city to SCE interconnect and photocell equipment for the operation of the system.

  • Antelope Valley East Kern - High Desert Water Bank | AVEK | Neenach, California, United States | Distribution Design Lead

Advised and aided in the development of a feasibility study and technical memorandum identifying the power requirements and infrastructure that would be required for the High Desert Water Bank (HDWB) project. The study identified several methods that could be implemented to address the requirements for the new proposed facility. The new facility would require several improvements to the existing infrastructure to operate up to 28 individual (500 HP) recovery wells, a 100 CFS pumping plant, turnout gates and other minor ancillary equipment to support overall operations. The study included a cost estimate for each of the feasible options and a review of impacts to the existing overhead electrical distribution circuits within the project site.

Worked alongside other engineering disciplines to design the underground power distribution system on site for a large logistics company. Lead a team of designers and engineers to complete several miles of cable and conduit sizing calculations, voltage drop and flicker calculations, transformer sizing and configurations and civil design for trench and conduit configuration and coordinating with other stake holders for to design and new utility corridors on site.
