  • Before becoming lead man i worked on my tools fabricating and installing conduit to lights and receptacles, raceway from instrument devices to the junction boxes, and run conduit to heat trace boxes. The conduit consisted of 3/4 to 2' aluminum conduit. We supported our raceway with aluminum, stainless steal, and galvanized unistruct with help of our welders.
  • After doing that we helped out in other areas with terminating cables from low voltage all the way up to high voltage. From 480motors , 4160 motors, start stop switches, lights, receptacles, lighting panels, instrument panels, disconnects, transformers, heat trace boxes and panels. Following we had occasionally situations when we had fabricate pieces of cable tray outside of the panel where the cables would land in the panel or dress cables neatly on cable trays. All of the power cables in this jobsite were CLX armored cables. The armored cables had to be preped, glanded, packed, and then ready to be tailed in to be terminated. This included knocking out holes in panels and carefully handle equipment to drill out holes. This summarizes some of the work activity and duty's i had on this jobsite.

Electrical jorneyman

Richard Automation (RAI)
Port Lavaca, Tx
09.2018 - 05.2019
  • Fabricated and installed ridgid conduit in the heater area of this project from junctionboxes to cable trays.
  • This was a job of mostly 1 1/2” to 3’ conduit with only galvanized unistruct to support the conduit. I had to comprehend and have well knowledge of using the One Shot hydraulic bender to bend our conduit and hoghead or the big 535 to thread and cut the conduit. Once done with the conduit had to pull our wire through the pipe in a quick and well communicated fashion to get the task done on time.

Electrical Top Helper

CB&I

01.2018 - 09.2018
  • Supported senior electricians in daily job site activities, including terminating low voltage and high voltage cables in switchgears and motors and dress cables on cable trays and pull wire through cable trays
  • Expanded and improved previously installed building electrical systems with new control systems and modern wiring.
  • Traced out wiring short circuits using test meter.
  • Helped out in basically all areas that covered terminating cables from power cables, network cables, telecom and communication cables, and fiber optic cables. This was a great experience to learn all kinds of cables in every area there is. I terminated cables in transformers and switchgears in the main mcc, instrumentation cables in plc, dcs, and sis cabinets. then jumped to fiber optic and network cables in control rooms and rie buildings.

  • Terminated cables in the mcc mainly power cables in capacitors, cabinets, dissconectes, switchgears, and motors.
  • Helped out in the control room to terminate wire and got introduced to cable splitting, prepping, and landing cables. Learned how to identify wire landing points in drawings and locating equipment. I slowly went on about myself and started to do things on my own under supervised people to get the hang of getting the hands on experience.

Electrical Helper

04.2017 - 06.2017
  • Fabricated and installed aluminum conduit to instrument devices and flexed them all the way to the device.
  • Assisted in running and figuring out raceways from the junction boxes to the devices transmitters. once finished had to use flex to land to the device and then pull the wire to terminate the instrument.

MMR
Galena Park, Tx
10.2016 - 04.2017
  • I got introduced to the basic equipment that we use on a daily bases such as the hydraulic bender, the 535 threader machine, power pony threader, band saw, power and hand tools. I was taught the basics of bending conduit fabricating supports to hold onto the conduit and way more. Eventually i got into the wire pulling aspect after being done with our conduit run and then finding the landing points to terminate the the equipment or device or whatever the case was. Learned how to follow instructions on mounting and hanging boxes, panels, or devices. This is where i branched out to learn all the areas of our electrical field and always tried to ask questions and master the task i am doing.
