  • Outsourced from Fujitsu to HCL Technologies as part of Husqvarna Helix project.
  • Maintained the same responsibilities as previous posting.
  • Systems Administration for Power 7 9117-MMC with 10 IBM i OS partitions and two AIX partitions located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
  • Also responsible for Power 9117-MMB with 14 IBM i OS partitions in Stockholm Sweden.
  • Environment also contains ProtecTier environment with replication for virtual tape library solution, and the FSFC environment for full system flash copy backups.
  • Part of the team responsible for migrating both environment from DS8800 SAN solution to V7000 SAN solution for both environments using load source migration.
  • Currently working on project to migrate the Sweden Power 7 to Power 8 using LPM (Live Partition Mobility) with the help of Load Systems (EU IBM business partner).
  • Instrumental in a smooth transition for the IBM i environment from Fujitsu to HCL minimizing the time from transition to steady state for the Husqvarna business.

  • Maintained the same responsibilities as previous posting.
  • Systems Administration for Power 6 9117-MMA with 10 i5 OS partitions and two AIX partitions located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
  • In 2013 was instrumental in migrating the partitions to a Power 7 9117-MMC with the partnership of the Dynamix Group, increased to 16 i5 OS partitions on redundant VIOS.
  • Hardware migration also involved upgrades from 5.4 to 7.1, with one remaining at 5.4.
  • Also acquired responsibilities on Power 7 9117-MMB in Sweden with 17 partitions running version 5.4/6.1 three of which are now at 7.1 due to upgrades required by the business.
  • Implemented iSeries Copy Services Toolkit for Full System Flash Copy for doing backups from source to target partitions; then to tape.
  • This was first done for the US and then Sweden locations with the help of IBM Lab Services.
  • Reduced backup window to under 15 seconds on sources, then tape backup would run on targets.
  • Responsible for applying PTFs and OEM software upgrades.
  • Migration from Robot Client to Robot Enterprise solution.
  • This allowed for moving to the replacement for Robot Client in a timely manner and also modernized the application.
  • Migration from Perle Controllers to eTwinax Controller solution for existing twin axial devices.
  • This provided a more modern solution that allowed for ease of remote management and configuration; to be phased out with laser printer solutions connected to the network.
  • Managed project for implementing Halcyon solution to manage messages across both US and Sweden LPARs this was integrated with the Global Service Desk to create and escalate messages to the proper resolver groups.
  • Implemented IBM Protectier for doing Virtual Tape Library saves to disk for European systems doing full weekly and daily incremental backups using BRMS.

  • This replaced legacy software reducing the incurrent costs.
  • Transitioned from programmed backup solution to using BRMS/400.
  • Managed their Microsoft SNA server.
