Military Background

  • February 2016- Oct 2016 Deployment to Djibouti, Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom - Horn of Africa. Served as a member of a 12hr Quick Reaction Force standing ready to render aid to any countries or allies within the area of operation in the event of hazardous engagement or a request for additional assistance.
  • March 2016- Joint training with a Light Infantry Unit from the French foreign Legion: Instructed foreign allies on US standard operating procedures in relation to room clearing tactics and dismounted formation movements across mountainous terrain. Trained in desert survival skills under guidance from the French Foreign Legion, thus earning a foreign school badge.
  • April 2016- Qualified at a Company Level on Urban Breaching Charges. Able to identify proper Modern Demolition Initiator systems, and ensure proper construction and placement of breaching charges.
  • April 2017- Completed 40 hrs of Basic Combat Lifesaver Course (CLS): The combat lifesaver is a bridge between the self-aid/buddy-aid (first aid) training given all soldiers during basic training and the medical training given to the combat medic

  • October 2020- Rifle Marksmanship Instructor Course(RMIC): Trained how to efficiently instruct and mentor soldiers on Basic Rifle Marksmanship (BRM) and Advance Rifle Marksmanship (ARM). Training consisted of weapon familiarization on the 5.56mm M4 Carbine, this included firing while moving, body positions, proficiency on targeting systems to include iron sights and advanced optics, and how to accurately assess and engage targets from 25 meters to 600 meters.
  • February 2021- Attended and Graduated Advance Leaders Course (ALC): Improved and developed advanced infantry skillsets, and utilized those skills to apply exceptional leadership and advanced tactical perspective on the battlefield while operating as a small unit commander. This course focuses on leadership and technical skills required to prepare Soldiers selected for promotion to staff sergeant. Soldiers are required to demonstrate exceptional proficiency in leading squad and platoon size units. Duties range from creating Operation Orders and clearly communicating expectations to a company size element to accurately disseminating all the information to the lowest level to ensure uniform understanding across the element. Knowing how to apply these skills across multiple theaters and within various mission sets is the trademark of an effective leader, and exceptional proficiency in these skills is necessary to effectively lead teams. Successfully demonstrating a wide range of skillsets allows a commander to accomplish their mission whether it be a reconnaissance, ambush, or a patrol through rough terrain and conditions to find, destroy, and control an objective.
