Worked onsite at the Blue Oval City Battery Plant, performinf various roles in regards to the operation of heavy construction equipment. Daily equipment inspections, along with operator level maintenance were requirements in adherance to strict safety standards .
Duties consisted of using specialized climbing equipment to access tree canopies in order to prune, trim, and remove dead or excess branches from trees posing a public safety hazard either by contacting energized conductors, or being inside of the 10 ft. minimum distance.
Responsible for operating a company vehicle to deliver auto parts to customers, including both retail customers and commercial accounts, by picking up orders from the store, following a designated route, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to safe driving practices.
Daily tasks consisted of formulating and carrying out a workable loading plan to load company trailers in accordance with the drivers stops along his pre specified local or over the road route. Every day was a new challange because loads could vary heavily depending upon customer needs, not only was the trailer organized by stop, but also most importantly, weight distribution.
Specialized in routine automotive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire inspections and rotations, fluid checks, and bumper to bumper chasis inspections. Focus on safety, quality and efficiency was an absolute must. Often acted as a mentor to less experienced technicians by relying on my military experience.
Completed Basic Combat Training Ft. Knox, Kentucky in Aug. 2009, then Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds MD and Ft. Lee, VA Ordnance Schools. Moved to an Aviation unit in 2012, and shortly afterwards attended and graduated in 2013 from the Armament Electrical Avionic Repairer course at Ft. Eustis, VA. Attended Basic Non Commisioned Officer Course in Camp Shelby, Missisippi, trained in troop leading procedures and gained my promotion to Sergeant in late 2013. Spent the remainder of my time proudly serving my country until my ETS and Honorable Discharge in 2017.
