Speech-Language Pathologist in an acute and subacute care hospital. Responsible for evaluating and treating complex patients with swallowing, speech, language, voice and cognitive disorders.

• Conduct daily triage of caseload
• Provide assessment, treatment and education for dysphagia, head and neck patients, speech-language/cognitive communication disorders across all units of the hospital (E.D., Med Surge, Special Care, ICU)
• Providing assessment and treatment for patients, including those with TBI, Covid, Stroke, intellectual/developmental disabilities, status post laryngectomy
• Clinical report writing and documentation/chart reviews via Epic Systems
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team
• Conduct, interpret and document Modified Barium Swallow Studies
• Twice weekly outpatient clinic provider, providing evaluation, treatment, and education for patient population with voice, swallowing and communication disorders post TBI, CVA, neurological disorders, and head/neck cancer

• Four-month externship placement at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City
• Perform voice therapy, including LSVT and SPEAK OUT!
• Educate and counsel head and neck patients before, during, and after radiation treatment and chemotherapy
• Follow-up post surgeries such as glossectomy, pharyngectomy, and laryngectomy
• Complete acute care swallow evaluations including Intensive Care and Neurocritical Units
• Educate patients and caregivers in aspiration precautions
• Perform cognitive and linguistic evaluations, both acute and clinically
• Participation in Modified Barium Swallow, FEES, Videostroboscopy, and TEP placement/change

• Externship placement in a 300-bed, sub-acute care rehabilitation and nursing facility
• Provide comprehensive screening, evaluation, and treatment in adults and geriatrics in long-term sub-acute care as well as inpatient rehabilitation
• Devise and implement individualized treatment plans for diagnoses including Dysphagia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and cognitive-linguistic disorders
• Complete voice, dysphagia, aphasia, and cognitive evaluations
• Treatment of patients with dysphagia, aphasia, traumatic brain injury, and cognitive disorders
• Provide education, counseling and recommendations to patients, families, and caregivers

• Evaluation and Assessment of patients using the CLQT+, Western Aphasia Battery, MOCA, cognitive-linguistic screeners
• Provide speech-language therapy services to patients with aphasia, TBI, post-Covid cognitive impairment
• Participate in stroke rounds in the ICU within 24 hours of admission
• Participate in and observed swallowing evaluations using both FEES and MBSImP
• Documentation of evaluations, assessments, and treatment sessions

• Evaluate patients from the teenage population, with a focus on pragmatic skills and cognition
• Documentation of evaluations and assessments

• Participate in feeding and swallowing assessments of the trach-vent population
• Assist with FEES examinations
• Documentation of evaluations, assessments, and treatment sessions

• Provide speech, language, and voice therapy to patients with Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, Cognitive Deficits
• Utilize the LSVT and SPEAK OUT! methodologies in voice therapy
• Create individualized treatment plans with salient activities and goals
• Documentation of all evaluations and treatment sessions
