Summary

Over the course of my career in healthcare, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, clinically and administratively. I was fortunate enough to be part of an administrative team that built a new hospital, selected an electronic health record, and implemented a lab information system. I have experience with New Mexico Department of Health surveys, as I have been the designated point of contact for surveyors. Additionally, I lead all hospital operations in the absence of the hospital’s Administrator. Clinically, I have experience as a medical laboratory manager and infection preventionist. I have recruited, trained, and retained medical lab staff, while continuing to operate effectively and efficiently. I have also had great success with CLIA certification surveys and proficiency testing compliance. My most recent experience as an infection preventionist dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. I prepared the hospital’s COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, in collaboration with the hospital’s Administrator, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, to ensure that all staff and patients are safe.

The combination of my clinical and administrative experience has enabled me to successfully lead a hospital and make sound decisions that positively impact patients and staff.
