Basic Functions:
Designs, develops, implements, evaluates and coordinates Affiliate education projects including research of breast cancer related issues and coordination of Affiliate and staff education training. Serves as a resource to Affiliate Services; coordinates training needs with Grants Department staff.

• Analyzes education product needs based on input from affiliates, affiliate services, survey input, and/or scientific research findings. Evaluates existing Komen Education products
• Manages the development, implementation and evaluation of new programs/materials and updates and/or revises existing products as assigned
• Plans, coordinates, and conducts Affiliate education trainings including design, development of curriculum, audiovisual aids, and support materials
• Designs training materials to educate Affiliates on the steps involved in the development, implementation and reporting of education programs.
  Conducts the education segment of the "train the trainer" sessions for Komen staff on training materials for the Affiliates
• Maintains a broad working knowledge of latest breast health information
• Provides technical assistance to Affiliate Services to respond to questions from the field and clarify issues, answers, or materials as appropriate
• Partners with Grants Department staff to ensure program design and training requirements are integrated. Reviews, monitors, and reports accurate budget data for assigned projects. Reviews, monitors, and reports on strategic and action plans for assigned projects
• Understands and complies with procurement policies and procedures
• May support the design, development, implementation of non-Affiliate educational initiatives as directed by Education Department leadership
• Represents the Komen Foundation at national meetings.
  Performs other duties as assigned

• Provide structured education in accordance with a developed curriculum for grades 6-12 in the Dallas County school districts. Seek the approval of and schedule presentations with school districts in Dallas County for school grades 6-12
• Provide training to school personnel as needed
• Assess situations where youth may be experiencing danger and provide safety planning and resources
• Scheduling presentations and groups in schools, recreational centers, churches and organizations in Dallas County
• Attend required case conference, staff meetings and supervisory sessions as arranged
• Represent The Family Place at area community functions on youth prevention issues
• Assist in the recruitment and training of program volunteers
• Assist in the development and maintenance of database of community statistics on teen dating violence prevention related issues
• Design brochures, flyers, another educational material
