I became the in-house writer for Islandport Media's four publications: Camden Herald, Republican Journal, Courier-Gazette, and The Free Press. As a multifaceted reporter, I sourced, pitched, and executed many of my own stories. For my work, I won first place writing and photography awards from the Maine Press Association, including Best Lifestyle Feature, Best Feature Story, Best in Show - Photo, as well as five other awards this past October.
In September, the four Islandport Media publications merged to become The Midcoast Villager. I was promoted to B Section, or Village Life, Editor, and Audience Engagement Editor.
I possess both a strong understanding of the AP style, and magazine style writing. I quickly grasp new industry jargon, and my interview skills have been praised as highly personable. My position within my current company is the most dynamic for a reason: I am easily adaptable, have broad interests, and a quick understanding of new industries.
