I have accepted different seasonal bus driving positions in many different states since my cdl. I also have be doing expediting around the country as basically an independent truck driver but in a sprinter van. In the past i did enjoy interacting with guests and having a good time making their experience better. I enjoy expediting. But, i see only a few people at gas stops and warehouses and thats about it. I was searching on indeed to see if their might be a charter bus driving position that would get me back in what I enjoyed about being a tour guide/bus driver. I think your position is perfect for me. And I'm excited about interacting with tourists who are out to have a great time, and enjoy me as their driver!
I am an owner operator of a Mercedes Benz sprinter van. I am considered an independent operator. I have a dispatch company that offers me loads and I do runs mostly east of the Mississippi. Typically my runs were 800 or more miles.
I finished my seasonal job in Jackson hole and decided to take time off and travel around the country and to other countries for a few months. Then covid happened and that extended my time of unemployment until I was able to afford purchasing my own sprinter van and started doing expediting.
I did a seasonal bus driving position for the winter ski season. I worked until my end of season completion date. Running set routes in town and out to the ski area..
I drove a Mercedes Benz passenger van. My day started with picking up vacationers in and around Vail Colorado. I would deliver them to Eagle airport around 10am. I would wait for my arriving passengers and deliver them around the vail area. roughly 100 miles round trip. Then I would load up more vacationers and be the 4pm out of vail headed to the Denver airport. 200 miles round trip. I would load/unload their luggage, share with them important information concerning arrival time. Drop sequence due to airline position in terminal. Also be a Great guide as to make their experience better, and of course improve my gratuities!
Our yard was in Fairbanks Alaska. My duties included highway runs down to Denali National park. Roughly a 3 hr one way trip. Some trips were same day. Others I would spend the night and bring a new group of passengers back to Fairbanks. I also did around town routes. Doing a loop of our 4 hotels and out to the airport for departing flights. Also did narration as needed and shared local stories via headset on the runs to Denali' and when doing the 3 site seeing stops around Fairbanks.
I have a spotless driving record personally and professionally since I became a cdl b driver in 2010 I have driven countless miles in and thru the mountains of Vail in a transit bus and also the highway run out to Denver airport in all weather conditions over to mountain passes
