43rd District Judge

In March of 2016 he was appointed by Governor Matt Bevin to fulfill the 43rdDistrict Judge vacancy, which encompasses both Barren and Metcalfe Counties. After a very close election, he was announced as the 43rd District Judge and fulfilled the remaining two years left on the term. He has since been re-elected two more times and has now served as the 43rd District Judge for eight and one half years. He was appointed as a member of the remote court task force during the pandemic. This group was asked to develop protocols for conducting court proceedings remotely. The Chief Justice then appointed Gabe as Chief Regional District Judge in 2022 and he currently serves in that role assigning special judge cases for around 20 judges in the Green River District.
