Migrated my sci-fi bio-engineering order system from a console app to a full Spring Boot REST API backed by MySQL 59 seeded organisms across 6 genome types, queryable by genome, size, and adaptations.
Features:
→ Full CRUD on organisms and their adaptations (offensive/defensive/standard/behavioral) each adaptation is its own sub-resource with its own endpoints
→ Query/filter by genome type, scale class, or specific adaptation
→ Layered architecture: controller ->service -> repository, with JPA entity relationships
→ Built-in SQL schema schema.sql creates tables on startup, data.sql seeds all 59 organisms (insert-safe, won't duplicate on restart)
→ Secure credential management via environment variables
What's Next?
• Order endpoints - create and manage organism orders
• Exception handling - proper 404/400 error responses
• Input validation - request body validation
• Spring Security + JWT - authentication and authorization

A backend REST API for an online video game store, built with Spring Boot and MySQL. This project was developed as a solo capstone for Year Up United, simulating the role of a backend developer inheriting and extending an existing e-commerce codebase.
Features:
→ JWT-based auth with role-based access (user/admin)
→ Persistent shopping cart with quantity management
→ Product search and filtering by category, price, and sub-category
→ Fixed existing bugs in search filtering and stock updates
