  • Adapt the methodologies developed by Ilkkarakam & Kim 2019, and in 'A Manual for Investing in the Care Economy: Estimating Care Deficits, Investment Costs, and Economic Outcomes,' developed by the ILO Employment Department, to the Argentine context with the aim of: Examine existing employment deficits in the care sector in Argentina (differentiating between the following subsectors: i) early childhood care (childcare, teaching, and care services); ii) primary and secondary education (including special education for people with disabilities); iii) Care for the sick and patients (short-term care); and iv) Care for older people and adults with chronic illnesses or disabilities (long-term care), analyzing the demand and supply of work in each of these subsectors)
  • Establish specific policy objectives for each care sector that allow addressing current and future (2030) care needs in Argentina through the creation of decent work
  • Calculate the cost of covering the existing deficit in various care sectors in Argentina, establishing quality criteria in terms of the care services provided and the working conditions of the workers providing those services
  • Co-author the final report 'Public Investment in Care Services in Argentina: Coverage of Deficits, Job Generation, Fiscal Efforts, and Economic Impacts'
  • Present the results at conferences and seminars of the ILO Argentina.
