• Rotate through all areas of recovery to include: Pre-Op, Phase I and II, float nurse and cataracts.
• Administer infusions per physician's orders such as blood/platelets, IVIG, iron and fluids. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions, monitor vital signs, access ports, and assess PICC lines.
• Administer medications and manage pain/nausea control per physician orders, administer the correct dosage of medication.
• Educated patients and families on post-operative instructions, medication prescriptions and answer any questions
• Make pre-op and post op calls
• Manage airway, extubate patients, monitor vital signs, surgical incisions, and provide any additional comfort.
• Promptly identify and address issues in all phases of recovery

• Coordinated with surgeons to make sure we had the appropriate medications and supplies in the room
• Ensure all equipment needed was in the room, plug in the equipment and adjust per surgeon orders
• Participated in time-outs before starting surgery, verifying correct patient identification, procedure and confirm laterality.
• Perform the appropriate prep for patient, ensure all counts were correct before and after.
• Maintained a sterile environment within the operating room, to reduce the risk of infection.

Emergency Room

• Provide quality patient care under the direction of the primary nurse
• Unit secretary who coordinated transfers to other facilities, and arranged transports
• Responsible for taking vital signs, cleaning/dressing wounds, performing EKGs, checking blood sugars, UAs, HCG tests, strep tests, documenting intake and output and helping nurses with any tasks
• Primary unit was the emergency department but cross-trained to other areas to include: Acute Care and OB
• Help with training new CNAs to the department

• Administered emergency medical care to patients in high-pressure medical calls
• Making sure equipment and ambulance was ready for the shift, by inspecting, maintaining, and restocking the ambulance with supplies.
• Assisted the emergency room with patient care
• Trained on protocols, and safety measures for optimal patient care.
• Provided transports from one facility to another.
• Collaborated with physicians and nurses during 911 calls
• Making sure the scene was safe before providing patient care, safely lifting, moving, and transporting patients via ambulance to and provide continuous monitoring
• Responded to all medical 911 calls in Othello and surrounding areas.
