• Coordinates the needs of the surgical team with PACU and PICU to ensure quality patient care in the OR striving for optimal patient outcomes
• Implementation of age-specific individual surgical plans and closely monitored integrity of the sterile field
• Assisting with induction of anesthesia such as application of cricoid pressure, placement of hemodynamic monitors and intravenous catheters when necessary
• Scrub/circulate assistance to surgeons in different service lines: general surgery, transplant (Kidney and Liver), urology, plastics, ortho, and ENT

• Collaboration and anticipation of needs with the surgical team to ensure the highest safety and surgical standards for the patient while demonstrating clinical problem solving.
• Use of established techniques to prepare and assist with surgical procedures and sets up all necessary instruments, supplies and equipment for various types of operations.
• Scrub/circulate assistance to surgeons with surgical procedures such as cardiopulmonary bypass, CABG, aortic, tricuspid, or mitral valve replacements, aortic dissections, femoral/central ECMO, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and ascending aorta arch replacements

• Performs the role of circulator, recorder and scrub nurse while incorporating multidisciplinary strategies in the plan of care to achieve desired clinical outcomes
• Maintains competency of the stimulator, fluoroscopy, ablation generators, 3-D mapping equipment setup, and A-Line care
• Recognizes blood pressure/heart rate trends to anticipate the direction of illness and assuming a leadership role to effectively intervene in difficult and stressful situations

• Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to adult and geriatric patient including the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify or modify nursing plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis
• Serves as charge nurse/preceptor for this 12-bed unit. Managing training and supervision of PCT and nursing staff, actively promoting an environment that supports teamwork and communication, encouraging self-sufficiency and independence in both staff members patient
• Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, co-workers, management, and physicians
• Enhances professional growth of self by staying current in clinical practice, incorporating research into practice, and participating in Research and Education Council

• Completed successful one on one site interview with Joint Commission Surveyor within first 2 months of hospitals opening
• Providing patient-centered care using an interdisciplinary approach including ongoing participation in team conference meetings
• Education of patient’s care to patient and family to reinforce the patient’s highest level of functioning
• Displaying leadership skills to develop new nursing skills by precepting new to practice nurses and orienting to the charge nurse role
