I am an undergraduate student currently enrolled in the Major of Management and Restoration of Aquatic Ecosystems program at USU. I'm in my fourth year of study at USU. I have a GPA of 3.56 and am seeking internship opportunities to gain Fisheries Management and/or Riverscape Restoration experience. I am outgoing, friendly, and passionate about maintaining the health and biodiversity of America's waterways.

Watershed Technician

  • Adjusted boards in a fish ladder on the Cub River to current water levels, cleaned woody debris from fish ladder walls, and caught trapped fish with hand nets on a daily basis during spawning season. Caught fish were identified by species, sexed, weighed, and measured. Caudal fin clips were obtained from cutthroat trout for genetic analyses.
  • Performed stream surveys for tributaries of the Cub River and North Eden Creek. Measurements collected included bankfull width, wetted width, temperature, and thalweg depth.
  • Helped stock hatchery fish in reservoirs.
  • Assisted in collecting roe and milt from cutthroat trout to be used for hatchery rearing.
  • Assisted in collecting fish samples from various Idaho & Utah streams/rivers via electric fishing.
  • Installed beaver dam analogues on Summit Creek.
  • Attended project tours for various wildlife management areas and helped discuss the various ways specific riverscape systems have been impacted in the past and possible methods of treatment.

Aquaculture Technician

  • Assisted in rebuilding an aquaculture research facility (Millville Aquatic Research Facility at USU) with PVC pipes, holding tanks, aerators, pumps, and filters.
  • Cleaned fish holding tanks and filters, and fixed aeration issues if they arose.
  • Fed and cared for fish stock (Channel Catfish, Red Shiners, June Suckers, and Carp).
  • Used seine nets to catch fish for transport back to the research facility.
