Work History

Senior Editor

Harlequin Books
09.1991 - Current

Acquire romance fiction from a wide array of authors, including the following New York Times and USA TODAY bestsellers:

  • RaeAnne Thayne (New York Times #1 bestseller)
  • Christine Rimmer
  • Elizabeth Bevarly
  • Kathleen Creighton
  • Teri Wilson
  • Brenda Novak
  • Stella Bagwell
  • JoAnna Sims
  • Catherine Mann

Acquire, schedule, and execute Harlequin Special Edition monthly lineup of books a month, currently including one each of our bestselling continuities, THE FORTUNES OF TEXAS and MONTANA MAVERICKS, bible-driven continuities that have been running in six-book arcs for thirty-odd years, and remain on the top of the sales pyramid.

Do both developmental and line edits on approximately three books per month in series.

Also contributed to most other in-series programs at Harlequin including Romantic Suspense and Desire.

Acquired and edited titles in the trade program, including HQN, Canary Street Press, and MIRA, by RaeAnne Thayne (over seventy five titles total) and Christine Rimmer, among others.

Personally won at least nine RITA awards for authors such as Suzanne Brockmann (I was her only editor ever at Harlequin); Karen Templeton; Kathleen Creighton; Caro Carson; Michelle Major; and Teri Wilson, among others.

Worked through many incarnations of Art/Design/Marketing for not only Special Edition and Romantic Suspense, but for now-defunct programs at Harlequin that could potentially capitalize on genre interest currently, such as RomCom (Yours Truly); gothic (Shadows); and deeper women's fiction (I headed NEXT in the early 2000s.)

Please note that I was Associate Senior Editor at Harlequin for Special Edition and a Continuities Program, from Dec. 2002-June 2003; and that I was hired as Editor for both Special Edition and Romantic Suspense in Sept 1991, a position which lasted till Dec. 2002.
