Summary

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I graduated from the University of New Mexico in July 2014 and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree. I received a double major in Criminology and Psychology with a cumulative GPA of 3.79. I graduated with honors Magna Cum Laude. I am seeking to maintain a full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills. I'm an organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. I'm willing to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals. I'm a detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills. I have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. I began working immediately after college with the NM Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer in July 2014. During this time, I managed dangerous and unruly criminals while focusing on maintaining safety and promoting rehabilitation. I was committed to maintaining order and enforcing rules and regulations in prison settings. In February 2016, I began working for the Department of Homeland Security: US Customs and Border Protection as a Customs and Border Protection Officer. I started my career at the San Ysidro, CA Port of Entry where I worked from February 2016 to April 2020. I then moved in April 2020 to the Douglas, AZ Port of Entry, where I am currently still working. I’m a Level III Instructor that teaches classes for Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) equipment. I implement our agency's mission statement to safeguard America's borders. I protect the public from dangerous people and materials. I enhance the Nation's global economic competitiveness by enabling legitimate trade and travel. I instill the core values of our agency to be vigilant, serve my country, and have integrity in everything I do. I am a resilient professional motivated to handling difficult and stressful situations. I am a respectful and ethical officer who believes that implementing firm, clear guidelines and adopting an attitude of understanding generates a more peaceful environment for all involved.
