Receive work orders from supervisor at start of shift. Look at work area, being on the ship or fabrication shop, to see it is safe for hot work. Set up services and welding equipment for job as per all safety rules and regulations. Check that all of safety CP logs, hot work sheets, marine chemist certs, scaffolding tags, and WAF for job are in place and up to date. Communicate and work with support crafts as needed to help move work ahead in timely manner. Review tag outs before breaking into any pipe systems to de-energize and drain. Fill out safety JHA( joint hazard analysis) form daily before starting any work. The removal and installation of piping and it components as per the work item, drawings, and prints. Inspecting of welds and fit-ups are satisfactory to specifications. Pressure testing of pipe systems in shop and on ship. Help pipefitting, wrench turning, fire watching, and confine space safety observing. Clean up of work areas before lunch and at the end of each shift. Reporting to safety and supervision of any accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions and situations in the work place. Help maintain shop equipment and tools.
