I have been working in the Electronic field for 40 plus years. I have kept up to date on changes in the field of electronics and networking. I have mostly worked in the telephone communications field in my career. In 1997 I was hired on at St. Louis Public schools because of my networking knowledge, and certifications, at the time, with the phone systems that were installed in the school district. Around 1999 St. Louis Public Schools made the change to put in Mitel phone system across the district. I took all the certification training on the early systems and maintained 90 systems in the district. In 2003 the district made changes to contract out our work. I then went to work for TSI Global Companies, in St. Charles, MO. and kept working for the St. Louis Public School District. I have kept up on all certifications with the Mitel phone systems. Since the days of Covid-19 in 2020 all training has been virtual, online training. I have kept up on these for myself, as St. Louis Public Schools is still at software level 7.1.
I am trained and prepared for the upgrade to IP phones, if and when this happens.
Flew offshore every day to work on microwave and two-way radios, to install telephone communications offshore. This was the beginning of early cell phone use offshore with microwave links to Souther Bell.
Installed Harris Farinon Microwave equipment and tied into two-way radio equipment to setup a land line phone, on oil and gas platforms, via the microwave link onshore to Southern Bell Company.
I am certified on all Mitel MCD phone system equipment, up to present software level, 101 and all Linux certifications up to 120 for the Voice Mail Plus the Mitel MiVoice Border Gateway
I did have my network certifications, but haven't used them on my present job I do not program network switches I program the Mitel phone system and all peripheral equipment
I have worked at St. Louis Public Schools since 1997 and have enjoyed my job. It has had its ups and downs like any other job but I have made a lot of good friends here and feel like I get along with everyone that I work with. I enjoy doing what I do for the district and hope to keep doing this until I retire and possibly longer. I am quite knowledgeable in what I do and have connections outside the office to get help when I need. I am well trained in my field of expertise and feel that no one can do the job any better than I can.
