RLA Engineering
04.2021 - Current
  • Mr Birmingham is in the Ink Delivery Systems group and is developing a new ink jet print head referred to as Take a Sip
  • This print head will be used in a new model of HP printers called Continuous Ink Supply printers
  • Mr Birmingham’s focus is developing the sensor that monitors print head ink level
  • On a low level condition, the sensor turns on a 5 V DC pump that refills the print head with ink
  • The sensor turns this pump off upon reaching its high level setpoint
  • In addition to the sensor design, Mr Birmingham has worked on the Arduino code and circuit boards that control the pump.
