As a Staking Technician with Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, I have had the opportunity to design single-phase power lines for Central Alabama Electric Cooperative consumers within Chilton, Autauga, Bibb, Perry, and Elmore Counties. I have also had the opportunity to design and build many three-phase power designs for multiple businesses within the same counties. I have taken the same designs in the field and applied them to a staking sheet using Futura in the mapping system, and creating structure and map locations within the UPN system. I have also had the opportunity to work with the Alabama Department of Transportation (DOT) in requesting state road crossing permits within the counties served. I am a notary with CAEC, and I use this almost daily in retrieving right of way easements in future line designs on a dedicated piece of property. Right-of-way easements are a great way to meet with consumers within my service area, and can be used to build a strong relationship between myself, Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, and their consumers.

• As a Journeyman Lineman with Central Alabama Electric Cooperative since September of 1999, I have had the opportunity to work with many great linemen, men, and women throughout the organization. Along the way, I have learned how to replace single and three-phase poles, build new services, install transformers, capacitors, regulators, and three-phase banks while maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety guidelines to keep myself and fellow linemen safe. Throughout my time with CAEC, I have had the opportunity as a crew leader, which allowed me to build the jobs to specification through RUS specs, implement all safety rules, and guide and train crew members.

Pike Electric is a contract company that does distribution power line work for Alabama Power Company. I worked as a journeyman lineman in Montgomery, AL, where I replaced single-phase and three-phase poles throughout the APCO system. I also worked framing and setting of new poles, and installing anchors, and upgrading and replacing transformers and services.

• I started with Petty Line Construction shortly after high school. Petty Line was my first job in the electrical industry. While working in Ft. In Paine, AL, I learned to frame poles, set poles, install rock anchors, and use explosives for pole setting. I learned basic line work skills, such as using a hand line, learning to climb poles, splicing services, plumbing, and setting poles.
