Summary

I have been working in and studying the craft/art of, and the science behind welding since the young age of 14. I feel that my experience paired along with my time and knowledge makes me a subject matter expert in this field of welding. I desire to pass on the things I have learned over the last 25 plus years to others. I am always very adaptable, hardworking and willing to multitask to complete any mission given. With my years of Knowledge, Education and dedication I have given to the craft of welding, I desire to further my career and take the next step into a Leadership position.

WG-11 Welder

  • I am currently a WG-11 Step 5 Journeyman Welder I took this Permanent Promotion in 2007.
  • My work involves being very knowledgeable about many Combat and Army Vehicles or the components and subcomponents of the Combat Vehicle,
  • My duties have required me to do ballistic welding in the repair of many Combat and Military Vehicles that consist of but not limited to M1A1, M1A2, M1A3, M88A1, M60AVLB, Stryker, Paladin, M9ACE , 113A3CPE, 113CMP, 577, 1068, Mine Plow Systems Mounts, Blades and Subcomponents.
  • My work involves me Inspecting critical weld areas for defects such as cracks, heat affected zone issues that might affect the serviceability of Combat and Military Vehicles.
  • I use techniques such as Mag Particle or Dye Penetrant spray wipe method to find defects on Combat Military Vehicles
  • Reading Blueprints is very essential to my job.
  • My work involves being knowledgeable on Work Orders, verbal instructions and Self Observance and the JHA associated with the job.
  • I perform detailed Inspections to determine if the Combat Vehicle will meet Serviceability Standards, Specifications and other established criteria or initiate a Non -Conformance Report

  • Loaned out as a HME in Cleaning and Finishing to work on such Engines as 1790 V12 Hercules, V8 and V6 Engine.
  • As the shop leader I kept up with Time and Attendance for Employees on Spreadsheets and also Production Reports to handoff to the Supervisor.
  • My job included making plans for weekly and monthly work schedules and that Employees were aware of all responsibility concerning Job Safety Breakdowns, the GTR book, JHA's, and the Redbook.
  • I selected workers to the task to be performed and explained work requirements, Methods and Procedures to do the job Safely.
  • I put employees time into the ATTAPS System and done Time confirmations and made sure TEDS Training was up to date.
  • I used LMP to navigate and check work process.
  • I made sure that Equal Employee Opportunity Rights were followed and that all Employees were made aware of their right to SHARP.
  • I initiated Process Improvement Methods in several areas to make things flow more smoothly.
  • I Had to be aware of the proper Hazardous Material labeling and storage and the proper authority to report Waste spills and or accidents to and make sure it was handled in a timely manner.
  • I became aware on how to properly investigate and or report worker related issues between workers and how to elevate needed issues quickly to the proper authority or supervisory chain of command.
  • I made sure all employees wore their proper PPE at all times
