Start-up
Orchestrated the creation of the Crawfordsville, Storm Water Utility Department (SWUD).
- Directed day-to-day operational aspects of the SWUD and met with City Officials while monitoring progress of all legal activities during the start-up process.
- Managed SWUD schedules to achieve adequate progression of the various interdepartmental and public meetings.
- Inventoried the storm water inlets/outlets with pictures and coordinates for the location for all known assets.
- Generated the average square feet (SF) of all residential properties and the actual SF for all commercial properties, for a basis for the monthly utility fee.
- Created the ArcGIS database for all assets.
- Created the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the SWUD.
- Interviewed, hired and trained new SWUD employees.
- Appointed the provider to administer and collect payments for the monthly utility fee and direct mailings for the actual fee statements.
Daily Operations
Put together estimates, specifications and other Repair/Replace (R/R) documents for all assets.
- Schedule all R/R with the Crawfordsville Street Department (CSD) in order to save on labor costs incurred by hiring outside firms.
- Verified completed projects met approved time, quality and cost estimates and report to Crawfordsville City Council (CCC).
- Thoroughly reviewed material proposals and negotiated contracts.
- Created and managed inventory for all commonly used products in order to increase productivity and efficiency for all municipal R/R projects.
- Managed and observed all commercial new construction projects by working effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers and architects.
- Kept municipal SWUD project sites compliant with OSHA, federal, state and local regulations to prevent unnecessary delays.
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4)
- Attended MS4 on-site state inspection audits, and meeting at the State Government Building with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) as required for compliance with the MS4 contract with the State.
- Created schedules and roadmaps for compliance to satisfy the MS4 City and State Code.
- Attended on-site meetings for all new construction project owners and subcontractors in order to satisfy MS4 state compliance.
