• Direct and manage the operations of the Center's Safety and Security Department.
• Provide leadership, supervision, training, and performance oversight for safety and security staff.
• Develop, implement, and enforce Center-wide health, safety, environmental, and fire prevention policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Train Center staff on emergency response and disaster preparedness procedures.
• Develop and maintain emergency evacuation plans for all facilities.
• Serve as Acting Center Director in the Director's absence.
• Function as a trusted advisor to the Center Director and serve as a member of the senior leadership team.
• Serve as the primary liaison with local emergency response and disaster management agencies.
• Lead monthly Center Safety Committee meetings.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and illnesses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Investigate staff and student incidents involving potential criminal activity.
• Prepare and present written oral reports, briefings, and summaries as required.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
• Manage the departmental budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Approve requisitions and oversee inventory, maintenance, and replacement of security equipment and supplies.
• Manage staffing schedules, including overtime and on-call assignments, in compliance with Center policy.
• Ensure all GSA vehicles are properly registered, insured, and inventoried.
• Oversee fleet operations, including vehicle inspections, maintenance, repairs, and replacement.
• Coordinate student transportation, including scheduling drivers and daily transportation activities.
• Compile and submit monthly Fleet Management reports.
• Ensure vehicles are operated safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Support Center-wide OMS goals and ensure strict adherence to the Zero Tolerance Policy.
