I have been working in and studying the craft/art of, and the science behind welding since the young age of 14. Now with my many years of knowledge gained along with the dedication I have given to fine tune the craft of my welding, I desire to further my career and take the next step and gain a position of greater significance. I feel that my experience paired along with my time and knowledge makes me a subject matter expert in this field of welding. I desire to pass on the things I have learned over the last 25 plus years to others. I am always very adaptable, hardworking and willing to multitask to complete any mission given.

WG-11 Welder

  • I am currently a WG-11 Journeyman Welder made permanent in June of 2017 after holding a WG-11 Temporary promotion for the prior 6 years since 2011.
  • I am expected to be very knowledgeable about many combat and Army vehicles as I do ballistic welding and repair to the following : M1A1, M1A2, M1A3, M88A1, M60AVLB, Stryker, Paladin, M9ACE, 113A3CPE, 113CMP, 577, 1068, Mine Plow Systems Mounts, Blades and subcomponets.
  • This job also requires me to inspect critical weld areas for defects such as cracks, heat affected zone issues, and over all, any of my, and sometimes others' work to insure the serviceability of the vehicles our shop has welded and worked on. I am versed in using several different techniques such as Mag particle and the Dye Penetrate Spray and wipe method to check for defects to determine if the vhicle will meet serviceability standards criteria and if it doesnt I initate a Non-Conformace Report on the vehicle.
  • One critical aspect of this job is having the ability to Interpret blueprints and schematics to execute welding projects with accuracy, and being knowledgeable of having the ability to execute work orders, verbal instructions, JHA sheets.
  • Collaborated with team members to streamline workflows, enhancing productivity in production processes.

WG-11 Welder Loanout as HME/ HME Mechanic

Loaned out to Cleaning and Finishing, this shop works on V-6, V-8 and the 1790 V12 Hercules engines. I workd as a Mechanic and became a Shop Leader. as a shop leader my job consisted of but was not limited to:

  • Kept up with time and attendance for employees on spreadsheets, kept production reports to hand off to supervisors as requested, while also making sure each employee navigated LMP, checked into ATTAPS for time confirmations and ensured all TED's training was complete and uptodate.
  • Initiated Process Improvemenet methods in several areas to improve and ensure work flow went as smoothly as possible.
  • Made weekly and monthly work load schedules and made certain that all employees were aware of the GTR, JHA, and the Redbook policies of the tasks that were assigned to them and that they knew of the location to find these written policies, while explaining to them myself as well the work requirements and methods to preform the task safely all while also ensuring they knew and donned the proper PPE for their assigned tasks.
  • I had to be aware of the proper hazardous materials labeling, storage, usage,disposal and the policies and procedures to rport any waste spills as deemed necessary.
  • I ensured all each employee's EEO rights were respected and that they were aware of their right to SHARP. I also became educated and aware of how to properly investigate and report "worker vs. worker" related issues between workers and hot to when needed elevate the necessariy issues to the proper authority or supervisory chain of command.

Shop Safety Monitor

As shop safety moitor I was responsible for enforcing all safety regulations I conducted morning safety meetings with more than 30 employees in attendance to educate them on current and ever changing Safety Policies and Proceedures while I also utelized the CAMS, TEDS and LMP systems to make sure employee safety records stayed current and up to date while I also:

  • Made sure everyone in the shop was aware of and could locate the redbook, GTR, and all Safety/Emergency Exits.
  • Conducted regular walk throughs of the facility to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify all safety risks and report any potential hazards while informing and providing proper documentation of said risks to the shop's supervisor or proper authority.
  • Monitored and ensured proper functionality of Fire Alarm systems and ensured that emergency exits and evacauation routes were unobstructed in case the need to utalize them arised.
  • Completed shop inspection report forms and ensured they were properly filed and reported for Jack stands, ladders and Hazardous waste.
  • I wrote JHA's to be placed in the GTR for each job performed in the shop.
