I bring a positive and enthusiastic outlook to my work, complemented by a diverse set of organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. My experience in crisis prevention and intervention has equipped me with the tools to handle challenging situations effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of those I interact with.
Strong communication skills, allowing me to engage meaningfully with others and foster an inclusive atmosphere. I value teamwork and collaboration, recognizing that a united effort is essential in creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.
Additionally, I am a quick learner, open to new ideas and approaches, and always open to feedback to improve upon my own experience and knowledge.
Over the past three years, I have worked closely with children and parents in a before- and after-school program, as well as running various camps during breaks, including summer and winter sessions. My role often involved de-escalating different situations, such as verbal and physical conflicts among children, emotional outbursts, emotionally upsetting experiences, and providing a comforting, attentive ear for anyone who needed to talk.
I frequently collaborated with parents, helping them navigate frustrations related to their children and answering questions about available resources that we provide from the city. Building strong relationships with the children was a priority for me; I aimed to be present and supportive, creating a safe and positive environment for them, and have greatly grown to love and care for ev child that I have had the pleasure to watch.
Throughout these years, I encountered various challenging situations, including working with kids in foster care and those who had experienced difficult family dynamics, such as domestic and physical abuse. This also included children whom had challenging backgrounds relating to home life and school. My commitment has always been to support these children and their families to the best of my ability.
