In 2018, I had previously completed a firefighting recruit class formed by the departments in Bullitt County through Shepherdsville Fire when they previously had a volunteer organization. The program allowed me to get a head-start and a good understanding of what working as a first responder would be like. Through the training classes, I was able to gain many of the training hours to get a head start towards a BASIC 1 Certification, and attend ride-alongs and experience the types of calls experienced with the Department. I have recently been working with LMPD in a civilian capacity creating Police Reports, however I have again become interested in working with the Fire Service.
