To Whom It May Concern:
Vince Lombardi wrote that the fundamentals of success in business and in life are Commitment, Discipline, Excellence, Mental Toughness, Habits, Faith, Passion, Results and Truth.
My entire career has been with FedEx Express, 30 years to be exact and I have practiced everyone of these fundamentals and have applied them to my management skills. I have been very successful as a manager and a HCMP Advisor.
Now is the time to further my experience, gain more knowledge and take my leadership skills to the next level.
I am writing to express my sincere interest in becoming part of something new and being part of the Aldi family.
I am confident my qualifications meet and exceed the requirements for this level of leadership.
During my 30 years with FedEx I have acquired many skills that would prove to be beneficial for this position. I have gained invaluable insight and experience that I think would be worthy of your time.
I am excited to look for a change and hope you find my combined experiences to be what you are looking for.
Regards,
Lorraine Gayle Worley
Duties and Responsibility Include:
Implementing and developing action plans for on-road and sort operations. Results to hit budget and goals monthly to be reported to a District level.
Communicated daily with warehouse and office personnel as well as drivers expectations and goals for the day. Held daily meetings with each group before their day started and individually with those who failed to perform. I drove and implemented goals of the Company to achieve enhanced performance and meeting deadlines and goals for the station.
I oversaw training for the location and the satellite station, running training reports, ensuring all manager's were aware of deadlines and advised how to work training 1 month ahead to avoid any late training for their crew. Offered different ways of communication to the employees to keep them informed of deadlines.
I was in charge of scheduling and posting the weekly schedule which hours had to be balanced with what was actually being worked. I did all the vacation scheduling and days off for the roll-up, which was approximately 190 people. I managed approximately 30 to 35 people and entered and corrected timecards daily, ensuring to get initials for any changes made.
I coached and developed several employees over the years to advance into staffing roles as managers and recruiting. I worked with new hires and assisted in their training and worked with them till they were comfortable with what they were doing.
Termination would be part of my job and I would carry it out to the end and escort the person off Company property when the need would arise.
If needed, I would seek the advice of my leaders and HR on issues that I might need help. I would use my network to help resolve issues.
I would schedule time for drivers to take license test as well as DOT physicals and would record for audit purposes.
I made myself aware of the Companies strategies and communicated daily what was needed for us to be successful as a team.
Attended weekly meetings and strived to hit my goals for my team for every meeting.
I was able to get employee's buy in and keep them engaged and made them feel as a valued part of the team. I created a sense of teamwork, that things operated smoothly as a team and not as just one person.
I consistently advised my Senior Manager of offers and pay that were in our market place so we could stay a great working field and attract only the best that could be offered.
I organized a team to clean up after every sort and encouraged drivers to keep their trucks clean.
I was in charge of our Environmental and worked to maintain all our records and process were compliant with government regulations. I served on the District audit team doing random audits over stations throughout the District, covering time keeping, required signage, I'9s, Sida clearance, driver's records and hiring paperwork.
I was over the Customer Service Agents and made sure the front counters were fully stocked and that our surplus was stocked to better our customers. I also made frequent calls if I heard of any drop boxes being low and requested for a driver to be sent by to stock and clean it.
I was instrumental in providing a safe work environment and talked about safety daily in our workgroup meetings.
I was instrumental in rewarding not only my team but the entire workforce when goals were achieved by cooking for them or ordering shirts and sweatshirts whenever possible.
Although a manager, I was never afraid to get my hands dirty and would pitch in to help meet the goals at hand or if we were short employees. I would also deliver to make sure the FedEx experience was exceptional, instead of letting deliveries go undelivered or later in the day.
Physical demands my entire career have been to lift 75 pounds and maneuver 150 with assistance and work at a pace moving so many boxes per minute. As well as launching drivers and Aircraft on time.
At FedEx, I have been privileged to work in many areas and learn many ways to run an operation as well as manage people and understand their strengths and weaknesses. To make them feel cared about and that they matter. This is probably my greatest attribute, keeping the team happy and engaged.
This was the beginning of a 30 year career with FedEx Express.
