As a motivated sophomore at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information systems with a minor in Entrepreneurship. My academic journey is driven by a passion for the overlap of business, technology and the beauty industry.
In my varied roles and internships, I honed skills in analytics, problem solving, management, logical thinking and oral communication. These competencies have enriched my understanding of the importance of information systems in modern businesses, salons and other organizations. With this understanding, I have enhanced my ability to interpret complex business environments.
Additionally, I have a strong passion for improving the quality of life through hairstyling for the African American community. This passion has led to my startup, HairPreneurs. HairPreneurs teaches the art of hairstyling through a cohort-learning style in efforts to decrease poverty, increase community involvement and disrupt the route to incarceration and recidivism in Baltimore City.
