I provide phlebotomy services to patients coming into our STD/HIV clinic. I confirm patient identity in various data systems while remaining HIPPA compliant. I am responsible for triaging these patients and ordering labs according to patient's needs and moving the patient along to the appropriated destination or type of visit. I coordinate with other internal programs to increase the services provided to our patients. I work closely with our Public Health Follow-Up team and am constantly keeping them updated about patient's that they have called in and walk-ins as well. Being that I am a Medical Assistant, I help our clinicians as needed with administering medications for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Trichomoniasis for patients that do not need a physical exam. I provide Phlebotomy training to internal and external staff, as well as provide guidance to other Public Health Aide. Assist the Clinic Manager by updating and maintaining VAOS (Vaccine Allocation & Ordering System) and submitting the monthly vaccine reports to DSHS.

In a call center setting I made outgoing calls to households around the United States to conduct telephone interviews asking respondents questions about their television viewing, radio listening, newspaper reading, and internet usage habits. The questions are read and interview responses are recorded via a computer. Interviews are conducted without bias and with high quality.
I was responsible for the recruitment, tracking, and retention of project participants. Project participants were minority women that were newly diagnosed, re-entering, or that had been lost to HIV care. Once consent was obtained from the participant, I would conduct a baseline survey in an interview manner and then refer them to a partnering agency for services to begin. Follow-up surveys were obtained as required by the funding agency. I also assisted with data entry, quality assurance, filing, and the development of project specific policies and procedures. My time was split between 2 projects so as a Case Manager I was responsible for a cased load of about 20-35 clients. I would set goals with the youth and their family according to different areas of life using a strength based approach. I would link the youth and their family to community resources as needed. I attended monthly multi-disciplinary client staffings. I also facilitated a 4 weeks life skills program called Project Towards No Drug Abuse to the youth.
Conducted Blood Lead Level testing and administered a baseline home survey prior to delivering an 8 session curriculum to project participants whose children had been exposed to Lead. I provided community resources as needed to project participants. Took part in interviewing and transcribing for a case study.
Train and monitor clients in the implementation and integration of independent living skills such as bathing, bed making, grooming, etc. Transported individuals to events and activities, medical appointments, and shopping trips.
