•To accurately register inpatient admissions, emergency department visits, Private referred patients, upgrade accounts, obtain insurance cards, obtain identification cards, obtained signed consent forms, verify insurance benefits as well as all other aspects of the patient registration process

• Implements the Medical Center's scheduling, pre-registration, pre-certification, referral procurement and insurance verification policies and procedures for the assigned outpatient point of service.

• Check-in and account for the location and arrival/processing time of patients to ensure prompt service with the established departmental time frames and guidelines.

• Performs all functions of bed planning; reservations/pre-registration/bed assignment.

• Performs insurance verification on all Inpatient services, and determines the patient's out of pocket responsibility.

• Informs patients of their out of pocket responsibility taking payment via credit card or in person and explaining financial resources including financial assistance, payment plans or payment on date of service.

• Obtained vital signs and collected biological samples to assist with diagnostic testing and ongoing assessments
• Promoted patient comfort by quickly responding to calls and handling diverse needs
• Documented information in patient charts and communicated status updates to interdisciplinary care team
• Cleaned and sanitized rooms and equipment using aseptic technique to prevent infection and cross-contamination
• Assisted patients with shaving, bathing and oral hygiene to promote healthy habits and overall wellness.

• Assists patients by providing personal services such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Helps family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the patient; advising on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping
• Record patient information by making entries in the patient journal; notifying nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
